My Role: VXD Director
Project Goal: Eliminate redundant and unnecessary glyphs across all PayPal touch points, globally. Revise and align with a new clean and simple brand direction.
Project Description
Part of the PayPal Unified Visual Language entailed reducing the number of glyphs in use across all of PayPal’s touch points and creating a unified suite that could be leveraged for all international sites. There were hundreds of glyphs in use and many of them had multiple treatments, a small selection showing that redundancy is shown on the left.
After an exhaustive audit, and working closely with designers and teams across the company, the team proposed a glyph suite that was consistent, read as a family, and had strong image recognition in all regions, globally.
“Skot always puts the customer first, which is why he is such a valuable partner to work with. His designs, ideas, and leadership all ensure that the user has the best possible experience - the cleanest, the simplest, and the most delightful. there are lots of "good designers"out there, but the rare gems - like Skot- are the ones who remain "real" and able to see design through the eyes of its intended target.”
